Dans i Västerbotten and Riksteatern Västerbotten are collaborating on a long-term development project in Västerbotten County with dance at its core. The project, running from 2021 to 2024, aims to offer the Riksteater associations in Västerbotten the opportunity to organize dance so that more residents in Västerbotten have the chance to experience dance.
With its exciting and varied expressions, dance art can communicate to many regardless of background. “Ett steg dans” gives participating associations an opportunity to learn more about the art form and organizing, as well as the chance to experience world-class dance and attract an entirely new audience to their venues.
For the associations included in the project, the offer includes
- One to two subsidized dance performances per year with related activities, tailored to different audience groups.
- The opportunity to be a residency location for choreographers and dancers in process.
- The chance to learn about dance as an art form through meetings with producers, choreographers, and dancers.
- Tips and tools for attracting new audiences and new members to the association.
- Marketing materials to reach out with the dance performances and related activities.
- Norrlandsoperan/Dans i Västerbotten/Riksteatern Västerbotten are project partners with project financing from Region Västerbotten.
Riksteater associations participating in the project include Vilhelmina, Boliden, Lycksele, and Burträsk.
